Estonia’s longest sandy sea beach
Narva-Jõesuu beach
Narva-Jõesuu Beach is the longest sandy sea beach in Estonia and one of the resort’s most valuable natural assets.
Stretching nearly 10 kilometres along the Gulf of Finland, it offers a wide belt of light, soft sand bordered by pine forest. Even during the peak summer season, there is plenty of space and a sense of openness, while in cooler months the beach is perfect for peaceful seaside walks.

A distinctive feature of Narva-Jõesuu Beach is its gentle and safe entry into the water. Shallow waters extend far from the shore, making swimming comfortable for families with children as well as for those who prefer a calm seaside experience. In summer, the sea warms up well, and the combination of fresh sea air, sand and pine forest creates a favourable microclimate that has made Narva-Jõesuu a recognised spa resort since the 19th century.

The beach is open and accessible year-round, revealing a different character with each season. In summer, it becomes a lively space for swimming, seaside walks and sunsets over the sea. In spring and autumn, the coastline turns calm and spacious, with long horizons and fresh sea air. In winter, the beach becomes quiet and almost meditative, inviting slow walks along the water’s edge.

One of the most striking points along the beach route is the Narva-Jõesuu Lighthouse. From here, visitors can enjoy views of the sea, the mouth of the Narva River and the long stretch of coastline — a place where the sense of space and the maritime character of the resort are especially vivid.

In the near future, this route will be complemented by a new breakwater, expanding opportunities for walks by the water and offering fresh perspectives on the coastal landscape.

Narva-Jõesuu sunsets deserve special attention. The resort’s beach is one of the best places to watch the sun set, as the sky takes on new colours each evening, reflected in the water and sand. The sunsets here are never the same, always creating a unique atmosphere and turning an ordinary seaside walk into a memorable moment.
