The “Sun” sculpture was installed in 2009 in the garden of Villa Kolbe, on the side facing Aia Street. The metal installation, mounted on a granite boulder, refers to the sun motif that also appeared on Narva-Jõesuu’s former coat of arms. The monument was created by the local company OÜ Kuznica, with Rashid Shamsutdinov as the sculptor, and the concept and design were developed in cooperation with the town residents and the city government.

The installation of the sculpture marked an important symbolic moment for the town. In the same year, Narva-Jõesuu adopted the unofficial slogan “the town where the sun always shines”, highlighting its resort character and atmosphere of light and relaxation. As part of the coastal area development in 2014, the surroundings of the monument were also improved, transforming part of the former villa garden into an open and accessible space for residents and visitors.
Today, the park where the “Sun” sculpture stands is increasingly referred to as Sun Park. It is a quiet and welcoming place for walks, short stops along routes through the resort area, green pauses during the day, as well as for hosting events. The sculpture has become not only an artistic landmark but also a symbol of Narva-Jõesuu’s bright and calm spirit, where nature, history and resort life come together in one space.
