Bon voyage with "Arabella": a new tourist train invites you for a ride through Narva-Jõesuu!

You have likely already noticed the bright red-and-white wonder leisurely circulating the streets. This is our new tourist train named Arabella.

Its cheerful colors were not chosen by chance: they harmonize beautifully with the famous Narva-Jõesuu lighthouse and our historic bathing cabins. The train not only helps you travel around the city in comfort but also creates a festive atmosphere, reminiscent of the golden age of our resort.

Why "Arabella"?

Many residents have already asked where such a resonant name came from. It turns out it has a deep connection to childhood and maritime traditions! It all began with the river ship Caroline. Its name reminded many of a beloved fairy-tale film from our childhood titled "Caroline's Silver Yarn" (Karoliine hõbelõng). While unraveling this yarn of childhood memories, the project authors immediately recalled another iconic heroine of Estonian literature—specifically the protagonist of Aino Pervik's book, "Arabella, the Pirate's Daughter".

Although the screen and book character Arabella grew up among harsh pirates, she remained a kind-hearted, fair, curious, and brave girl who sincerely believed that kindness and care are always the truest paths.

The authors wanted to instill this message into the character of our city train. Our "Arabella" has turned out to be joyful, friendly, full of discoveries, and ready to take passengers—both big and small—toward new summer adventures.
