On 30 January 2026, following the results of a public procurement, the Narva-Jõesuu Port Foundation and OÜ BlueRay signed a contract for the development of a virtual tour of Narva-Jõesuu.
Under the agreement, OÜ BlueRay will create a modern and content-rich virtual reality tour for Narva-Jõesuu, consisting of several thematic scenes and offering visitors an interactive and immersive experience. The virtual tour will take users on a journey through time, revealing the story of Narva-Jõesuu through maritime history and shipping. By using virtual reality technology, visitors will be able to experience the region’s past, underwater views and historical events in a way that is both engaging and educational.
The use of virtual reality makes it possible to explore places and stories that are not normally accessible — such as underwater shipwrecks, historic vessels and centuries-old trade routes. “The VR solution being developed places the history of Narva-Jõesuu in a broader context and highlights connections even to world-renowned locations. We believe it will become an exciting discovery experience that offers moments of wonder for both domestic and international tourists,” emphasises Egle Rääsk, representative of OÜ BlueRay.
“The virtual tour helps highlight the unique character of our region and strengthens the sense of belonging among local residents,” notes Natalia Orava, Development Specialist at the Narva-Jõesuu City Government.
The upcoming virtual tour will enrich Narva-Jõesuu’s tourism offering and create new opportunities both for leisure activities and educational use. It is intended for individual visitors, families and school groups, and supports Narva-Jõesuu’s development as an attractive and forward-looking tourism destination.
The development of the virtual tour is carried out within the framework of the project “Development of the Ida-Viru Region Waterways Network and Tourism Entrepreneurship”. The project is funded by the European Union’s Cohesion Policy Fund measure “Attractive Regional Business and Living Environment”, the support measure for the implementation of county development strategies, and partner budgets.
